Sliding velocity dependence of kinetic friction coefficient of bronze-filled polytetrafluoroethylene and its application to robustness improvement of friction damper

چکیده

This study demonstrates that the robustness of friction dampers can be enhanced by using positive velocity dependence kinetic force. First, we show coefficient reduced under extremely low sliding conditions oleyl acid phosphate (OLAP) as an additive to lubricant on surfaces between bronze-filled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and steel. Next, based results numerical simulations, use a surface with is effective in improving vibration reduction ability dampers. Finally, our findings are demonstrated through simplified experiment.

construction and validation of translation metacognitive strategy questionnaire and its application to translation quality

like any other learning activity, translation is a problem solving activity which involves executing parallel cognitive processes. the ability to think about these higher processes, plan, organize, monitor and evaluate the most influential executive cognitive processes is what flavell (1975) called “metacognition” which encompasses raising awareness of mental processes as well as using effectiv...

Velocity dependence of sliding friction on a crystalline surface

We introduce and study a minimal 1D model for the simulation of dynamic friction and dissipation at the atomic scale. This model consists of a point mass (slider) that moves over and interacts weakly with a linear chain of particles interconnected by springs, representing a crystalline substrate. This interaction converts a part of the kinetic energy of the slider into phonon waves in the subst...

Dependence of kinetic friction on velocity: master equation approach.

We investigate the velocity dependence of kinetic friction with a model that makes minimal assumptions on the actual mechanism of friction so that it can be applied at many scales, provided the system involves multicontact friction. Using a recently developed master equation approach, we investigate the influence of two concurrent processes. First, at a nonzero temperature, thermal fluctuations...

Friction analysis of kinetic schemes: the friction coefficient.

Friction analysis is proposed as the application of general control analysis to single enzymes to describe the control of elementary kinetic steps on the overall catalytic rate. For each transition, a friction coefficient is defined that measures the sensitivity of the turnover rate to the free energy of the transition state complex of the transition. The latter is captured in a single property...

Atomic simulations of kinetic friction and its velocity dependence at Al/Al and -Al2O3/ -Al2O3 interfaces

Kinetic friction during dry sliding along atomistic-scale Al 001 /Al 001 and -Al2O3 0001 / -Al2O3 0001 interfaces has been investigated using molecular dynamics MD with recently developed Reactive Force Fields ReaxFF . It is of interest to determine if kinetic friction variations predicted with MD follow the macroscopic-scale friction laws known as Coulomb’s law for dry sliding and Stokes’ fric...
